Q: |
I AM A NEW RIDER. AM I WELCOME AT BIKERS FOR BABIES?
|
 |
A: |
Absolutely! We ask that you
read our safe riding tips and investigate
taking a class on riding safely within a large group. It is not required that
you ride, but you can still attend and enjoy the event.

|
 |
Q: |
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR BIKERS FOR BABIES?
|
 |
A: |
We require ALL riders and
passengers to wear helmets, as well as the appropriate safety gear. We encourage
you to bring your saddlebags for prizes you may receive, some rain gear, as well
as your camera!
|
 |
Q: |
CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY COME?
|
 |
A: |
Of course! We think Bikers
for Babies is special, and even non-riders will enjoy watching the motorcycles.
We ask that every participant register and sign the appropriate waiver. They can
fundraise to give all babies a healthy start, too! (They can also be eligible
for incentive prizes!)
|
 |
Q: |
CAN I RAISE MONEY ONLINE AND STILL GET PRIZES?
|
 |
A: |
Yes! Using our Online
Fundraising Tool (OFT) is a fun and easy way to get donations and track your
progress. To get started, simply register and follow the step-by-step
instructions. Please print out the final fundraising sheet and present it at
your local event with your checks and additional donations to claim your
incentive prizes.
|
 |
Q: |
AM I REGISTERED AFTER I START USING THE ONLINE
FUNDRAISING TOOL?
|
 |
A: |
NO! You have started
fundraising, but you are not registered until you sign all appropriate waivers
and receive your registration materials from your local chapter. Some chapters
pass out wristbands, route maps or additional items to identify our riders and
to ensure a safe event. Please contact your local chapter for registration
materials.

 |
Q: |
OUR BIKERS FOR BABIES WAS RAINY, AND SO I COULDN'T
ATTEND! WHERE CAN I SEND MY MONEY?
|
 |
A: |
Our events happen rain or
shine, but in case you couldn't come, please contact your
local chapter! They will have made arrangements for riders who did not
attend. You can still send in your money and receive prizes! Online donations
are not affected; only cash and checks sent directly to you need to be turned
in.

Q: |
WHERE DOES OUR MONEY GO? |
 |
A: |
March of Dimes Bikers for
Babies plays an integral role in the advancement of our mission. When you team
up and raise money in Bikers for Babies, you're helping to fund research and
programs that work to give every baby a healthy start.
|
 |
 |
The March of Dimes is the nonprofit health organization that's leading the way
in the fight against prematurity! Every year, half a million babies are born too
soon — 1 in 8 — and the number is on the rise. The March of Dimes is dedicated
to reducing the rate of premature birth by funding research to find the causes
and stop it from happening. In half of all premature births, there is no known
cause. You can help us change that!
Our advocacy efforts in state and federal government are making it possible for
more parents to get health coverage and care for their babies and children. And
our educational programs inform women about the signs of preterm labor and what
to do if they experience them. With your support, the March of Dimes continually
strives to reach the day when every baby can be born full term and healthy.
